Building Material Donors and Customers
• Accept tax-deductible donations from homeowners, general contractors, renovators, landlords, and property managers of quality used building materials reclaimed during deconstruction, demolition, or tenant change-out processes.
• Provide written confirmation of ReBuild’s receipt of these materials from the owner for their tax filing purposes.

Maintain a “Materials Wanted” of specific materials sought by contactors and homeowners for their building or renovation needs.

Materials Wanted
If you are seeking a specific type and quantity of building material, for your construction or renovation project, ReBuild can assist you.  Our staff works closely with a large number of contractors, as well as with DeConstruction Services, LLC, and frequently knows weeks in advance when various types of products are expected to be delivered to the warehouse.  Alternatively, we may be able to arrange for you to pick up the products directly from a job site or, if the quantity is too large for your vehicle, by ReBuild’s delivery truck.  If this service is of interest, just complete the following section:
Join ReBuild's Materials Wanted List

• Assist customers in finding products most suitable for their construction or remodeling needs.
• Provide free pick-up services for large or specialty donations.
• Deliver purchased items for a distance-related service fee.
• Offer homeowner classes on ways to use and install various products sold in the warehouse.
• Provide a community bulletin board to facilitate “green” construction and small business networking.
• Offer home energy audits and weatherization services in affiliation with certified home energy auditors.
• Provide hardwood flooring installation, sanding, staining, and polyurethane coating services.
• Offer rain barrels for sale as well as installation kits and accessories for DIY’ers.
• Offer widest selection of quality reclaimed oak flooring in the DC metro area.
• Provide Saturday workshops on various environmentally sustainable projects and practices around the home.

Unemployed or Underemployed “Hard-to-Place” Workers
• Partner with “green” companies to provide training in new “green collar” and who can use qualified course graduates in their businesses.
• Work with trainers to develop the appropriate course curriculum for entry level positions.
• Develop relationships with nonprofit worker development organizations, religious institutions, social agencies, and others to identify promising candidates for ReBuild’s training program.
• Recruit and enroll workers in appropriate “green collar” job training courses.
• Monitor workers’ performance throughout the training period and make any adjustments necessary.
• Assist workers in gaining entry to employment in one or more of the trades in which he/she has been trained. • Track workers placed with “green collar” companies for at least one year following their employment.
• Make adjustments in training program based on trainer and employer feedback.

Community Sustainability Education
• Identify volunteer experts in various facets of sustainable living.
• Provide ongoing workshops provided by these community experts.
• Seek public and nonprofit venues in which to exhibit ReBuild’s mission and successes.
• Seek opportunities to make presentations at community meetings, forums, and conferences.
• Expand these sustainability education services in response to community and participant feedback.
